Hi All,

Believe it or not, we are soon coming to the end of our stay here in Girona : the cycling Mecca of Catalan!

Yesterday we 'saved' ourselves (from ourselves!) and chose an easy ride through alot of interesting villages and sunflower fields  - finishing with our favorite downhill run to Cassa de la Selva and a quiet route back into Girona.

Last night we had a really nice meal at a Chilean restaurant. It was Independence day (from Spain) and they served us a special dinner in celebration!

With just a few riding days left in Girona, we chose a big climb today. 71km 1300m with a 13.8km ascent from 200m to 950m in the middle. The idea was a longer ascent would be more fun. (Silly idea  .. grades were 12% ... often!) We still had a great ride with views of the valley below and wonderful descent on mostly smooth road. Doug enjoyed his beer at the end.

Tomorrow is our last day for a big ride .. wonder what we'll do!
