Hi All,
What a great sleep we had last night in this lovely apartment! So good, that we felt sluggish this morning and started on a 46km 900m ascent and shrunk it to 32km 600m!
Our short loop into Modica was on quiet roads with a descent into the great divide between Modica Alta and Modica Bassa. Marion spotted the sign to the top (Alta) and so off we went up narrow roads out racing the odd car that dared to try to pass us!
When we got to what we thought was the top, we could not find a grand Piazza! .. so we had a very nice capucino in a quiet via.
When we figured out we had 100m more to the top, we took off again and arrived at the base of Chiesa de San Giovanni .. funneral in progress.
On the way down we stopped at Chiesa de San Giorgio .. very impressive from the outside.
The remaining pictures attached are of Scicli .. which we decided we prefer to the busy Modica!
Tonight is a birthday dinner for Marion!
