Rain last night brought a very humid and overcast morning as we raced to Lake Champlain and the ferry to Ticonderoga .. but just before the ferry we turned right down a very quiet hwy 73 on our way to Orwall staying in Vermont. Fresh pavement but not soft .. and then we were on the Orwell road heading north-east. What a lovely road!

As the day progressed the humidity went up and our only respite was the cool shade around Lake Dunmore and then it was a bit of a race to Middlebury as the storm clouds collected in the western sky over Lake Champlain!

A crack of thunder announced our arrival at the Airbnb! A perfect day!
