Hi All,

Today we picked a northern route .. 73km 950m ascent .. well, we got the ascent right but a wrong turn at the starting gate added 7km of unwanted city traffic!

The ride was great once we got on to the quiet roads. We had lots of narrow rolling roads and short, sometimes steep, hills with nice views of the distant inland mountains.

We stopped in the little town of Esponella for lunch just as a group of cyclists from Britain were leaving. Then a steep 2km climb, then some flats across a valley and finally around the lake at the town of Banyolles. The last stretch was through rolling narrow roads and across small river fords (dry!) on a very smooth road surface! It was great!

Tonight we are a group of 7 for dinner as Grahame and Karen will join us!

Will tomorrow be a rest day? Not sure!

Apparently my email tool is resizing photos to PNG format with a .jpeg extension .. some people are having viewing issues so I will switch to plan B.
