This morning, after much debate, we fatefully agreed to try for a ride as the sky's seemed to be clearing and the forecast looked good!
The first 20km were great as we managed to pick quiet roads with no mud and with an interesting climb over a ridge towards the town of Salemi. Then there was an ominous rumble of thunder and black clouds gathering to the west!
Needless to say, our day finished with heavy rain, 30 min in a good shelter, a hasty retreat, a flat tire and little joy.
We arrived back safe and are drying out and now the sky's have opened up again and it is pouring rain!
... one more ride tomorrow?
Cheers
Harold and Marion
