Another very foggy and cool start to the day .. but a forecast of 21C so we were not deterred and dressed lightly and picked a route that took us inland . And immediately the sun shone on our parade of 7! Neil and Gerry joined us!
Coffee in Rafol at the "swimming pool" cafe and then it was caffeine legs that pushed us up the (short) ascent to Puerto de Sorell 170m then a great descent with views of the sea and rice paddies. Astana pro Cycling team was charging up the Col the other direction which was fun .. small group of 7-8 riders plus support car.
You can see the haze and brown pollution line on the horizon in some of the pics today. We frequently see this. Lots of burning in the fields this time of year which we think is the major cause.
Lunch in Font de Salada (Roman baths/hot spring) and then Neil showed us an interesting way out across some dykes and dirt roads that reminded us of Cuba!
We've had a great time here! We were really fortunate to have connected with Gerry and Neil and Peter who graciously showed us all their great routes in and around the busy sections of the small towns and larger Denia!
No hassels returning our bikes this evening and another dinner out in the village!
