We've been waiting for this ride for a while and finally we were off (yesterday) on a cool 11C morning, a flat out the door, a strong head wind and clear blue sky.
Ondara, Sagra, Orba then the climb to Benigembla and a turn into a strong headwind and all the car and bike traffic was gone! (Saturday mornings are busy here and all the cycling groups where out in their club jerseys).
Finally the right turn at Villa Mercedes onto an even quieter narrow road into this isolated valley. Lots of craggy rock and cave formations high up the mountain side. Peaking at 600m and the road continued to meander across the top before the descent to the village of Vall d'Ebo. One more 120m ascent and we regained most of our altitude at the Peurto de la Vall d'Ebo and time for a photo!
The long descent to the Pego valley was spectacular with views to the sea showing many of the roads and towns we cycled in the wet days of our trip.
Best beer of the trip in a square in Denia! Why can't we have spaces like this in our city!
Best dinner of the trip at Fuego (seafood) sitting outside with the setting sun on our faces.
Today is a short ride leaving time for us to pack our bikes and prepare for our transport/flight to Mallorca tomorrow (Monday).
Cheers!
