location: Sault, France

We are well settled in to our apartment in Sault after a short 36km ride from Buis Les Baronnies and up to a very nice col called Col d'Fontaube at 640m with fabulous views of Mont Ventoux with clouds developing on the top.

Not to be out done, the road in to Sault turned out to be a climb as well after we had lost so much elevation coming down into the valley .. all the way up to 750m in Sault .. higher than the Fontaube!

36km 610m ascent.

The people we are renting from seem very nice .. Roy is a Brit who's partner Mireille is an artist who speaks mostly French and was tending the garden when we arrived.

Marion has been taking a lot of nice pictures .. especially of 'me' .. so I will get her to send these out shortly!

We think tomorrow is a riding day and Sunday looks like a rain and rest day ..

This afternoon we spent an hour sitting on a bench in a park and some gentlemen started playing boules around us and we made room on the bench for a few of the spectators as the two teams played for the win. It was fun being part of the game!

Boules is a bit like curling but the button is a small wooden ball they through onto the gravel park floor and then they throw steel balls trying to get close to the button or blow the competition's balls out of the playing field!
