Yesterday we had a great ride from Aragon to Limoux. We selected a route that went to the west of Carcassonne to keep things quiet ...funny thing about quiet roads ... they tend to be hilly!
... but we got some great views of the Pyrenees as we crested the first hill into the Carcassonne valley .. Midi canal etc.
44km 520m ascent!!!
(You know, a few years ago before GPS we did not know our numbers .. Maybe that was better!)
We arrived just after noon and checked in to our nice AirBnB .. met owner on bridge as we entered Limoux!
Today was a day off and we have done little except visit the local Musee d'Art .. very small but very nice post-impressionist paintings .. some by the local artist Marie Petiet.
Oh .. And yes, the dinner in Aragon was fabulous! Enjoyed the white wine immensely (Corbieres)!
Tomorrow we will do the ride to Lagrass .. to the east.
