We did everything today .. really!
Smooth pavement, gravel, steep gravel, steep descending gravel, visited an Abbey, climbed with a tailwind, descended with a headwind, ate cod (thanks Doug!), got cold, got hot when the sun came out ... and cycled on some great winding roads with fabulous vistas .. all under the threat of rain that never came!
Our route took us on Glen Road over Mount Baker to East Bolton then on to Austin. Lunch in Austin gave us a chance to read about Muriel Bell-Duckworth (relative of our friend Jean Cooper).
Pressing on, we found the Saint Benoit du Lac Abbey which was built in 1938 and has these amazing floor tiles!
Time to head north so off we went on Chemin North! Great road up and down and lots of twists .. all the way up to Mount Orford. We soon found ourselves on Route Verte "Montagnarde" .. yes, climb climb then finally a great descent and it was time to jump on the bike trail down the east side of Lac Brome to Knowlton and home.
Great day!
Tomorrow we'll work harder on finding coffee stops!
Cheers
