2012-10-10 : Ecija

Hi all
We left Carmona around 9am this morning heading north towards the Rio Guadalquivir (major river valley that Cordoba is on) and then swung back south to Ecija avoiding alot of busy roads! It was a fun and easy ride 84km and we were hitting 30km an hour on the last leg into town! We only had one hill of any description after a 14% down and got into the hotel at 1:30! This a great hotel and fabulous tapis which we indulged in with a beer as dinner is at 8pm tonight! We will stay here a second night and either site see or day-ride tomorrow (or both!). We saw lots of cotton fields today as well as a fair amount of smog in the river valley and it was nice to leave that behind as we headed south again. The little girl in the pictures is 7.5months. Notice the pierced ears which is very common for little girls here! The father was pleased that I took her picture and said she was almost as pretty as her father! The church is Santa Maria Church in Carmona and it truly was a beautiful church with all kinds of riches on display!
Cheers!
Marion and Harold
