Hi all, We had a great time in Grenoble and saw some interesting stuff! After taking the lift up to the Bastille, we discovered they were having a cycling race on the road up! 2km, 30% grade!!! .. so we took a few pics!
We decided to walk down the hill (3km) back to the town and then on to the museum .. mostly paintings .. very nice!
The museum on the resistance was dark and not quite as interesting .. but reminded us of some recent books on the resistance .. will have to get back to that book!
Today we took the bike path out of town for a good 40km before it turned into some quiet roads ..but not before I managed to take us down a steep hill to a suspension bridge and back up to an even steeper hill that must have been a good 20% grade! ... we walked it! .. but arrived at St Marcellin at 1pm in time to have a pastrie and cafe before dropping off bags and doing a quick tour to St Antoine .. more tomorrow!
We'll stay two nights here .. very nice town and chamber d'hote!
