Our plan today was to head east cutting across all the busy roads until we found a quiet road heading south 'til we crossed the L'Eygues river. It worked great as we entered Orange from the east on quiet roads! (As it turned out, the L'Eygues did not have any water in it .. so, in theory, we could have walked across just about anywhere!).
We found a fabulous lookout for lunch at km 32 with great views of Mont Ventoux and the Les Dentelles Montmirail (jagged mountains that look like teeth) .. we cycled around them many years ago!
We did have a lot of wind today as the 'mistrial' was still blowing hard. At one point we turned South and had a marvelous tailwind hitting speeds of 38km/hr without pedalling!
Orange looks interesting and tomorrow will be a day off the bike to visit museums etc.
