2019-09-12 : Col des Limouches

Now for something completely different!

Let's do a Col! .. and throw in a 2nd one if it comes for free!

The beautiful D102 delivered us to the  town of Besayes .. where we stopped for coffee!

Then we meandered over to Peyrus and started our climb to the Col des Limouches on the D68. It was smooth and quiet and an average grade of 5.9% .. perfect .. for 12km!!

At the top we had our sandwiches and watched the odd tourist pass by (mostly on a motorcycle!) .. then we descended 1km and took the traverse (D749) to the Col de Jerome Cavalli .. an Italian aerobatics/test pilot who crashed here in 1943! Marion and I had cycled to this point with panniers in 2015!

Then it was down down and back to the lovely D102 into town and a beer at our favourite patio - le Central .. where they are friendly to cyclists!

73km 1165m .. tomorrow a shorter ride back into the hills north of town!

I'm including a few pics from yesterday too!

Cheers
Harold and Marion and Grahame
