Hi All!

We said goodbye to our wonderful host and the couple from London and off we went on the quietest roads you could ever hope for! This remained so for the rest of the route! So quiet that we did not find a cafe until noon!

Clouds and sun then clouds for most of the day with a head wind on the last 7km into Joigny as we swung west. Just the odd sprinkle of rain at the 10km mark.

The terrain is definitely different now with no vineyards and lots of agriculture .. some fields of dried sunflowers.

Joigny is a pretty town especially looking from the south bank where our hotel is!

We have reservations for 7:15 at the restaurant. We've been told to bring the camera and take lots of pics of food!

Marion tells me that, when you reach a certain age, the calendar dates rotate slowly and you can spread you birthday dinners over multiple nights!
