Last night was a great dinner .. but still not as good as Saint Jean de Maurienne Hotel du Nord!

Today was suppose to be a sunny day all day and a perfect day to extend the ride another 20km!

We started out fine with sun and a wind buffeting us from the right. After lunch we turned south and it was a strong headwind for the rest of the ride. Dark clouds and 40km plus gusts added to the excitement especially as the rain pellets started. Fortunately we roared into Chablis on a tailwind before the rain intensified.

I asked Marion what was the best part of the day .. a long pause .. perhaps the beer she said. It was tough work climbing those hills with such a strong wind blowing across the open fields!

We think we'll take the more direct route tomorrow!
