It was a chilly morning as we left with our legs and arms on plus vest and undershirt!

We chose the scenic route to Avallon and passed through many small villages following the Serein river. The highlight was the medieval town of Noyers (a plus beau village) with crooked houses and a nice coffee in partial sun!

We arrived around 12 noon and had a salad in a cafe in the centre of town. Avallon looks like a nice place with lots of restaurants to choose from!

Tomorrow Oct 1st is Marion's official birthday dinner and it looks like the rain will hold off til late so we may do a day ride to Vezelay. (hill top town)
