Today was to be our easy day with a quick tour around the Island on Nick (and Jenny?) recommendations! It was great ride and we are glad we did not give up on the heavy gravel/pothole section as the views were great but we could not figure what was happening to the many cars that were going opposite to us. They never came back and the road was almost impassible for these small cars!
Some of the climbs today made the mount Cascade hill look picco! I am sire some of those hills were above 20%!
Back in the square in Orbetella we had a well deserved beer and then an icecream after a quick foot dip in the Mar Tirreno (Sea)! We look forward to dipping in the Adriadic Sea in a few weeks to make this a sea to sea tour!
Tomorrow we climb in to the high country to our villa in Arcidosso where we will stay for 5 or 6 nights.
