2019-07-26 : Little Current - Friday

Today (Friday) we said good bye to our Inn at Providence Bay after another excellent breakfast and cycled to Little Current.

First stop was the Cenotaph just before Lake Mindemoya. It was a commemoration of soldiers, merchant sailors and women who contributed to the wars and conflicts of the 19th century.

Our route took us through the town of Mindemoya and then north to the quiet roads of Rockville, Bidwell and Indian Mountain Road joining highway 6 at Sheguiandah. This was a great route that avoided construction on the 540!

The roads were mostly quiet and even the #6 was a pleasure with the smooth road surface and good shoulder. Great views of the bay and Strawberry Island as we seemed to descend for much of the last 10km before making the right turn in to Ruth's road (Harbourview). Two short stretches of extremely chunky gravel had us at the house.

The rest of the day was about the kids ..

We had a great 6 day tour of the island!

The highlights have to be the bays and water access, talking to locals and seeing how they live and of course some great dinners and riding with our friends and family.

Cheers
Harold and Marion
