After last night's wonderful dinner at a local tavern (I had 4 legged duck and Marion had a shrimp pasta dish), we decided to day was the day to do the Middlebury and Brandon Gaps.
We got going at 8:40am but still encounter lots of traffic going up Middlebury to the upper college campus (Breadloaf) .. but then it petered out. Nice smooth road as it had been paved a few years ago all the way to Hancock!
Lunch in Rochester in the park was nice and shady and then, to our relief, the next climb up Brandon was into a cooling breeze and not as steep as Middlebury.
We finished off with a tour around Dunmore Lake once again but no late day storms this time so no shade on the last segments into town!
99km and 1450m on the GPS!
Tomorrow a short ride .. or a day off .. not sure!
Cheers,
Harold and Marion
