This morning we had no excuse for starting late .. but we did. 15C by 10am!
This was the day to cycle to Syria .. close to the base of Old Rag Mountain (Blueridge). The paving crew were scheduled for Leon Rd so we took Thoroughfare Rd and the short cut to Hebron Valley Road. We had some great views of Blueridge from this route!
In Syria at the general store we met some fellow cyclist that actually live in this valley .. interesting conversation!
The smooth roads in and out of Syria were a treat! Little traffic too!
We finished the day meandering over to Oak Park Road and the exciting ride back to Locus Dale where we've been parking our car.
It sounds like Carman and Charles are enjoying some great rides in NC ... and the social life and breweries!
Marion says it's not a competition .. so, if you've been paying attention, today's ride was 36% longer than yesterday but at the same ascent.
Tomorrow looks like a rain day .. and a drive to the Performance Bicycle .. maybe lunch in Gordonsville.
