2019-04-13 : Mother Nature 1 , MAHB 1

Yesterday Mother Nature gave us a weather lesson!

We started our Singer's Glen loop thinking we could shorten it easily if the weather changed!

As we worked our way up the valley we could see mist forming on the Alleghany Mountain side of the valley .. but it was still warm so we figured we would be ok.

Then suddenly the cool air slipped over the mountain and it started to rain. So we flipped directions and retraced our route back home .. with a 'warm' southern head wind driving a light but persistent rain down our necks! Of course it stopped raining as soon as we road into the lane of our Airbnb!

Today we woke up to fog which lifted by 9am ... off we went on the Natural Chimney 80km loop. Sun sun until noon then cloud but still warm. Very dark to the south and we got a little sprinkle on the return leg. Great ride!

We ate in tonight using up some food. We bought 8 chicken thighs for $7 .. antibiotic and hormone free grain fed .. about 3 days ago. Food can be pretty cheap down here! It almost makes up for the smell of the poultry farms we encounter in the country side! (Marion did not have her glasses on when she bought those yams! .. they were good anyway!)

We really like this airbnb .. very spacious .. had time to do laundry today as you can see!

Tomorrow we are in Lexington for 6 nights then 2 nights in Staunton.

Cheers
Harold and Marion
