2019-04-28 : Woodstock - Brock's Gap

Hi All,

We've been hiding out here in Woodstock for the past few days as some rain and then a heavy wind day kept us off the bikes.

Of course we have nothing to complain about here when we read about the flooding in Ottawa and else where!

When we woke this morning it was raining .. but then it started to clear and so we took off on the Brock Gap loop. This loop takes us through Jerome, and Basey Springs all along very quiet roads up against the western side of the valley.

When we started to turn towards Brock's Gap we picked up a bit of a tailwind with gusts from weird angles .. and then the wind caught us and through us throw the gap! We had to hold on tight because this year they added a rumble strip along the edge of the road! After some careful trick riding we managed to make the left turn on to Mountain Road and say good bye to the traffic and rumble strip!

Gusty winds for the rest of the day back to Edinburgh via Mount Jackson backroads. Most of the gusts were tailwinds and at times alot of fun! (Other times not ..)

Our thoughts are with all our friends back home dealing with floods and weather .. !

Cheers
Harold and Marion
