Today we said goodbye to our lovely condo in Denia and headed up the beautiful valley of Gallinera!

A big day with perfect weather. The valley road  meandered up at a steady 3-5% grade. We reached the pass at 550m with a few steeper grades before descending quickly into a pine forest and a sharp right turn around the reservoir (some steep ramps!) and over the dam. 

We finished our tour of this reservoir valley on a quiet road before joining the commuter traffic into Muro de Alcoy. Many sharp turns in narrow streets finally took us to a quiet road down to Hotel Anna in Cocentaina and a cold beer!

Dinner at 8:30pm!!! So we went to the grocery store and bought food for a picnic on a bench in a nice part of the old town.

75km 1000m .. with panniers!

Tomorrow is an easier 22km to Bocairent .. but still some good climbing!
