2019-09-05 : Valley ride

After a leisurely breakfast we found a bike store and pumped our tires. We were all riding a bit low!

Our plan was to head down the right (north) side of the valley towards Albertville and return on the south side grazing the side of the mountain close to the Col de Cucheron.

The forecast today was 7km winds with 20% chance of rain by 3pm .. no problem!

Well off we went down hill out along the valley and .. into a strong headwind! It seems the valley channels the wind! But with sunshine and the promise of a tailwind to take us home, we pressed on!

.... and then the sun went out! Big clouds with nasty dark sections blowing into the valley from Albertville!

At 16C and gusting 30km+ winds  we did not want to get wet so shortened our route at Epierre crossing the valley to the south side.

Totals: 52km 550m with coffee at a beautiful pond with a great view of the Col de  Chaussy!

The wind is howling through our apartment right now! Quite happy with our low elevation ride today with a great tailwind blowing us home!

Cheers

PS .. promised pics of jerseys and rabbit! It was delicious!
