2019-09-23 : September 23rd

It took a while for the mist to rise out of the valley and even then it hung as black clouds daring us to go forth. Finally, after a croissant and cafe in the square, we took aim at Saint Andelain in dark clouds and off we went! It has a large church steeple you can see from across the valley!

The pickers where out in the vineyards with the machines grooming the vines as we approached the town and the sun was out!

Our route took us through lots of small villages such as Saint Laurent d'Abbeye, Saint Colombe des Bois and Garchy (lunch) until we came back down to the Loire at Pouilly.

The forest of Bellary was exceptionally cool when the sun went in and I was thinking of my warm gloves back in our room!

It was a fine ride but not as pretty as Nevers or Romans sur l'Isere!

Tomorrow looks wet but maybe Wed we will do a ride to the west!

Birthday dinner for Harold tonight!

Cheers
Harold and Marion
