Wow! What a wind today at 30kph gusting to 50kph! We started off across the bridge heading east with great hopes but it was too strong so we went south down river into the wind with the promise of a tailwind home. Good plan!

This gave us a chance to visit the Musee du Velo apres midi which was a real treat! Over 200 bicycles from the beginning of time to the present. We saw direct drive mitre gear, pedal-forward-pedal-back shifting, stair-climber, wood, plastic, elliptical chain ring - you name it!

We have had a great time in Tournus and have managed a ride every day. Today was quite mild (26C) despite the fierce south wind.

Tomorrow we take the train to Bourgoin Jallieu close to the airport, by-passing Lyon. We decided we could not manage the big city and pass up 3 days of cycling  in fair weather after all those rain days! Lyon will have to wait for another time!
