Hi all We have really enjoyed our two night stay in Cordoba after a bumpy ride into town on the worst road of the trip! I keep telling Marion that it was worth it for the views of the mountains to the north - really!
We entered the city crossing the Roman pedestrian bridge and were welcomed by many interesting arches and towers and then a quick right down the well marked bike path along the riverbank to our hotel.
Next day we took a tour of the mosque/cathedral which was quiet stunning although I guess it is not quiet as impressive as the one in Granada .. we will have to compare with Doug and Judy! We also took in an interesting palace surrounded by many beautiful gardens and then enjoyed walking the narrow streets and purchasing a cycling jersey for Marion - it looks great!
Today we took the train to Antequera and we are in a very nice hosdeliera with a fabulous restaurant - we are told!
Friday is looking like cold and rain so we are planning on taking the train to Malaga where we will join Doug and Judy for our last few days before flying home Monday!
Tomorrow could be a ride up El Torcal ... or maybe a bus tour .. or maybe ride to the north on some easier roads. We met a nice German couple at dinner tonight and they cycle in the Stutgard region but mostly on bike paths. They were very nice and want to come to Canada and visit the Rockies! The restaurant was good but not as good as the Villa Guadaluppe in Malaga on day one - except we had a nice bottle of Beronia which reminds us of Dave and Joyce!
